They were simple. For men they were a plain band, with no designs or jewels. The woman’s was plain as well. Because the flashy ring that she got was the engagement ring. But times have changed and now the rings can be very lavish. Men have become more stylish over the past century. And are not afraid to dress nicely. Whereas in old times a man dressed like a man and that was it. But with men becoming more in tune with looking good. Jewellers have started making bands that are more attractive and pleasing to the eye.

The terminology has changed, along with the design of wedding bands as well. Today, most people call them wedding rings. The term band is becoming outdated. And some people don’t even know what one is. It makes sense to call them wedding rings. Because they are exchanged at the wedding ceremony. Women still get their engagement ring beforehand and it’s that one that is most extravagant with a big diamond surround by little ones. As time has changed the look of them it has also changed the name as well.
